I am beginning to realise….

That the older I get, the more I feel the cold! I need more layers on inside the house and even more when outside.

My garden is calling for the last few jobs to be done but I can’t bring myself to wrap up and do them:( We are still gathering the last few carrier bags of leaf mould to put on the back flower border. Once that is done, maybe 3 more will be required for the smaller border. That will be it for now.

  1. At the smallholding, in our early years, summer and winter, I would get up at 5.45 to a cold house, pull on some clothes and go straight outside to feed and milk the goats - can't imagine going outside in the cold that early now!
Hope tomorrow morning is fine as I have leaves to rake up too.

  2. Now I've reached my 70th year I definitely feel the cold more. Layers seem to be the answer and fingerless gloves for inside the house, I could do some gardening jobs but its too cold, although I have topped the bird feeders up. Hugs Gill Xx

    1. A few years ago, it was -10C overnight, I had to don a woolly hat, gloves and socks as well as Jim jams, in bed.

  3. I'm currently at my mum's. She has the heating on and I'm wearing t-shirt, jumper, jeans, thick socks, slippers, full length bodywarmer and a hat. I'm still cold. The ED is partly to blame but I'm definitely colder than I used to be.

    1. ED certainly won’t be helping but other medical problems will be potentially adding to it. I think our bodies also shed more fat as we age. Glad we have got the log burner.

  4. Know exactly what you mean. I had planned to do a bit of garden tidying this afternoon but it was just too gloomy and chilly. Brrrrrrr. xx

    1. Very dull. By mid afternoon I had to give up crafting.

  5. I understand the feeling cold thing. I also find myself adding layers to my body. I know I could turn up the heat in the house, but I do not want to do so as of yet.

    God bless.

    1. Same here but you have far colder winters than us. It’s just our homes are not built for it.
